MSPW Website Header

To avoid any possible confusion, please ensure  your teams entering playoffs, their coaches, AND THEIR fans understand the following:

From this point forward, ALL WEIGH-INS WILL BE  STRIP WEIGHT - SHORTS AND A T-SHIRT.

PLAYERS WEIGHTS MUST FALL BETWEEN THE MINIMUM AND THE END OF  SEASON MAX IN ORDER FOR THE PLAYER TO BE ELIGIBLE.
 NO EXCEPTIONS

NO CLEAR OR WHITE MOUTHPIECES - MOUTHPIECES MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE HELMET THIS IS A PUBLISHED POP  WARNER RULE, AND PER THE POP WARNER ADMINISTRATIVE MANUAL, PAGE  61:  "Three sets of rules govern Pop  Warner Football:  1.  The National Rule Book,  2.  The  Pop  Warner  Administrative Manual, and 3.  National Federation or NCAA  Rules, depending of the state in which Pop Warner football is played"  (  Texas is the ONLY state to use NCAA rules, everyone else follows National  Federation of High Schools Rules ).

Also on page 61,  "The Pop Warner Rulebook is superior to high school football rules, according to the  "Federation" or "NCAA" rules.  When rules conflict, Pop Warner rules take  precedence.  When there is no conflict, or the Pop Warner Rulebook is  silent on the matter Federation or NCAA rules apply".

Last year, there were at least two instances of  officials allowing clear or white mouthpieces, OR allowing a mouthpiece NOT attached to the helmet. This will NOT be allowed this year at any playoff  site or in Regional Championships.  The Administrative Manual is clear as  to the superiority of Pop Warner rules where written.  Make SURE your teams  are in compliance.  Players out of compliance with ANY required equipment  (including Pop Warner Patches ) will be deemed ineligible until they come into  full compliance with the rules.
 NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please ensure that all parties understand there is  a gate fee for admission to the playoff games.  Passes for coaches will be  limited in number.  We do not need behavior issues at the gate.

Speaking of behavior, all head coaches entering  playoffs will be required to sign that they have read and understand the Coaches  Code of Conduct, and behavior expectations for playoffs and championships.  Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated at any level by any coach,  player, or fan.  It would be time well spent to have a parent meeting to  ensure understanding of the expectation.

I appreciate your assistance with communicating  this...
